NC Teaching Spa will open on Monday Nov. 15/21 to employees and students that have met the requirements outlined in Niagara College’s COVID-19 Vaccination Policy.

 

We are strictly following Personal Care sector-specific COVID-19 health & safety protocols, as outlined by Niagara Region Public Health and are committed to providing the highest standards in the spa & personal care industry. We are implementing the following preventative measures at NC Teaching Spa.

Payment, Gratuities & Paperwork

Payment for products and services are only accepted by Debit or Credit with “tap” as the preferred means of payment.  NC Teaching Spa accepts Visa, MasterCard and AMEX.  Cash is not accepted at this time.  Gratuities can be added to Debit or Credit payment and will go directly to the student Esthetician.

Required paperwork will be emailed to you prior to your appointment.  **You are asked to complete this, scan and email it back 24 hours prior to your appointment. (**We are currently working on a “fillable” sheet that you can complete on-line and return.)


Spa Guest Screening

NC Teaching Spa will open on Monday Nov. 15/21 to employees and students that have met the requirements outlined in Niagara College’s COVID-19 Vaccination Policy.

If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 please cancel your appointment, and visit https://www.niagarahealth.on.ca/site/assessmentcentres or contact your healthcare provider, and plan your visit for a later date. We are checking the health of each of our guests before they enter the spa. We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone with symptoms of any kind.

  • You will be required to complete your on-line COVID-19 Daily Health Screening Questionnaire before entering Niagara College DJP Campus to attend your appointment.
  • You will also be required to complete a supplementary COVID-19 Screening Questionnaire when you arrive to the spa, prior to check-in.
  • If you have any COVID-19 symptoms, you will be advised to visit the government of Ontario’s COVID-19 self-assessment tool or contact your healthcare provider
  • We will reschedule your spa appointment at least 14 days from the cancelled appointment.

Physical Distancing

  • Physical distancing measures have been put in place to ensure spa guests & staff maintain at least two-metre physical distancing within our space where possible. We have also installed plexiglass at our Front Desk to create a safe barrier between our front desk staff and spa guests.
  • All spa guests will be required to book their spa visit by phone or email in advance, to allow for staggered check-ins at our Front Desk. A limited number of guests will be checking in/checking out at a time to allow for physical distancing at our Front Desk. Walk-in clients will not be permitted at this time. Seating in the spa reception will accommodate the maximum of four (4) guests, physically distanced. Additional guests will be asked to wait, physically distanced outside our front door, in the hallway.
  • All spa guests are asked to limit what they bring into the spa. Please avoid bringing coats, boots, etc., these items can be left in your office, locker or car during your service please.

Face Masks

Our spa guests & staff are required to wear face masks while inside the spa, as required by the Province of Ontario and the Niagara Region’s face covering By-law 2020-46.

Our NC Teaching Spa Team members will be required to wear a surgical/procedural mask and eye protection (face shield/googles) for the duration of all services, while performing all treatments for our guests.  Guests receiving hand, foot and body treatments will be required to wear a mask for the duration of the service.  Guests receiving facial treatments (facials, facial waxing) will be permitted to remove their masks upon advisement during the service.


Cleaning & Disinfecting

  • We will be cleaning & disinfecting surfaces throughout the spa frequently with Health Canada-approved COVID-19 rated disinfectants. Washrooms, waiting & treatment rooms, Front Desk and all high-touch surfaces are cleaned and disinfected before and after each client. They will also be cleaned regularly throughout the day.
  • Our student Estheticians have allocated time between each appointment for a thorough cleaning & disinfecting of the treatment beds, tables, surfaces, equipment, linens and materials.

Hand Hygiene & Respiratory Etiquette

Our spa guests & staff will be required to practice proper hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette. We will provide Health Canada approved hand sanitizer to staff and spa guests before they enter the spa and throughout the spa facility.  Signage for hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette is also posted at the entrance of the premises.
